2022 McLaren 765LT Spider: The brand’s most powerful convertible model yet arrives in Australia
Priced from $684,900, the McLaren 765LT Spider will be limited to just 765 vehicles globally.
McLaren is welcoming its most powerful convertible supercar yet to Australia, with the 2022 765LT Spider finally arriving on our shores.
Priced from an eye-watering $684,900 before on-road costs, this latest entrant to the line of "Longtail" McLarens will be limited to just 765 cars globally just like the sold-out coupe.
Built on the same MonoCage II-S carbon fibre structure as the coupe, the stiffness of this platform means the 765LT Spider required no additional bracing over the coupe due to its inherent stiffness, helping to keep the weight low.
Featuring a one-piece retractable hard-top roof that improves both the driver experience and aerodynamic performance, the only real chassis upgrade comes in the form of carbon fibre structural supports bonded into the chassis at the rear of the car to improve rollover protection.
The 765LT's mid-mounted 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 remains unchanged for the Spider, producing 563kW (765PS) and 800Nm of torque.
Its 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions gear ratios have been revised for improved performance, helping the 765LT Spider rocket from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds.
765LT Spider buyers will have the ability to personalise their vehicles in an almost limitless way thanks to the range of McLaren Special Operations customisation options.
Two MSO defined packages are also available, with the Clubsport Pack and LT Black Pack both reducing the vehicle's overall weight to increase track performance.
The 765LT Spider joins the McLaren Automotive Supercar range, which also consists of the 720S coupe and Spider, the 765LT coupe and the hybrid Artura.
