2022 Skoda Kodiaq pricing and specs: Updated model has turbo petrol power in RS variant
Priced from $52,990 drive-away, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq brings a range of styling and technology upgrades.
Skoda has lifted the lid on its updated 2022 Kodiaq. The brand's bestselling model now sports updated looks and a revamped range-topping variant.
Offered in 3 trim levels for the Australian market – Style, Sportline and RS – the facelifted model is priced from $52,990 drive-away.
For Style and Sportline variants, the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine from before remains, with unchanged outputs of 132kW and 320Nm and all-wheel drive as standard.
The biggest change comes for the top-spec RS, with the pre-facelift model's bi-turbo diesel engine now replaced by an upgraded 2.0-litre turbo petrol unit with 180kW and 370Nm. The new engine also saves 58kg over its predecessor.
Backed by a 7-speed dual-clutch auto and all-wheel drive, it now makes the Kodiaq RS capable of covering the 0–100km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds while also achieving an efficiency of 7.5L/100km.
Curiously, the lesser 132kW engine is slower, getting from 0–100km/h in 8.4 seconds. It is less economical as well, only managing 8.2L/100km.
For the entry-level Style model, the 2022 Kodiaq adds sequential rear indicators, welcome lights that display the Skoda logo, updated dashboard trim, luggage nets and a chrome front grille in addition to the updated exterior design.
Sportline variants also add adaptive matrix LED headlights apart from the Style's upgrades.
Once again, the greatest upgrades come for the RS model. It adds new 20-inch alloy wheels, leather seat upholstery and ventilated front seats.
For Style and Sportline models, both Tech and Luxury packs are available to bring them closer in spec to the RS model. The packs add features such as a 12-speaker Canton sound system, adaptive chassis control, memory seats and blind-spot detection.
A panoramic sunroof, towbar and side steps are also available as individual options.
As with all Skoda models, the 2022 Kodiaq is covered by a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty. Both 3- and 5-year pre-paid servicing packages are also available.
