Sharper, smarter and better value: The 2025 Skoda Octavia RS lands in Australia
If you've ever been in the market for a family car that doesn't bore you to tears, chances are the Skoda Octavia RS has popped up on your radar.
For 2025, Skoda has given its popular performance sedan and wagon a serious overhaul, adding power, features and some clever tech - all while managing to trim the price compared to its predecessor.
Yes, you read that right: the new Octavia RS offers over $9,000 worth of extra features but comes in at $1,470 less for the sedan and $1,270 less for the wagon than its predecessor with the same package.
The sedan starts at $58,490, while the wagon comes in at $59,990.
Performance upgrades and sharper handling
The updated Octavia RS gets a power boost, with its 2.0-litre turbocharged engine now producing 195kW - up 15kW from the previous model. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a limited-slip differential, it achieves 0–100km/h in 6.4 seconds for the sedan and 6.5 seconds for the wagon.
Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) is now included as standard, allowing drivers to switch between comfort-oriented and sportier suspension settings depending on the situation. This lets you adjust the suspension settings, so you can prioritise comfort for the daily grind or opt for a sportier setup when the road opens up.
More equipment as standard in the 2025 Skoda Octavia RS
Skoda has incorporated what was previously an optional Premium Pack into the standard specification. This means features like heated seats (front and rear), tri-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Canton audio system, a head-up display and massage seats now come included.
Additionally, the Skoda Octavia RS gets a larger 13-inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation, wireless charging with cooling, a heated steering wheel and an Area View camera. These updates position the car as a well-equipped option within its segment.
Customisation options remain plentiful
The Skoda Octavia RS is offered in a range of colour options, including bold choices like Mamba Green and Race Blue, as well as more understated options such as Graphite Grey. For those wanting something a little different, Velvet Red Metallic is available for an additional cost.
The Octavia RS is offered in both sedan nd wagon body styles. While the sedan provides a sportier profile, the wagon adds the benefit of increased boot space, catering to those with additional storage needs.
The 2025 Skoda Octavia RS value proposition
The 2025 Octavia RS is still aimed at families who want a balance of practicality and performance. With more standard equipment, a slight bump in power and a price that's lower than the previous model when similarly equipped, it's positioned as a strong option for those who need space without sacrificing fun behind the wheel.
Skoda's Australian product manager, Glenn Reid, summed up the updates by saying, "The Octavia RS has always been a go-to for families who want space and performance and now it's even better value than before."
Whether it's for the school run, long road trips, or the occasional spirited drive, the updated Octavia RS presents itself as a capable all-rounder with a focus on both practicality and performance.
