Best Afterpay Day flight deals

Travel sales pop up sporadically – and when a hot one appears, take advantage with Afterpay even if you're short on cash.

Which sites offer Afterpay flights?

Afterpay isn't super commonplace among air travel, but that doesn't mean it's not entirely unavailable. The payment service can be found at:

  • Jetstar for flights and related products including checked luggage, seat selection and in-flight meals. Afterpay is available to you as long as the flight departs at least 48 hours from the time of booking. Bookings can be made up to $3,000 which must include the 1.5% service charge fee.
  • Webjet for flights, holiday packages and select hotel bookings. Purchases can't exceed $3,000 and a 1.15% payment fee must be included in the total amount. Bookings are available through mobile, desktop or the Webjet app.

How does Afterpay work for flights?

Just like you would opt to pay with a credit card or PayPal when making a purchase online, you can opt to pay via Afterpay and the item will be instantly yours.

Repayments are automatically taken from your account in interest-free instalments every fortnight for eight weeks. A text message reminder is sent before the deduction is taken, which is an easy reminder to make sure the funds are in your account.

Why buy flights with Afterpay?

Purchasing airfares with Afterpay comes with a string of advantages (see below), but how do the numbers actually stack up? We've checked out some of the most popular routes across Australia via Jetstar to see what payments look like when broken down into repayments.

Keep in mind full-price fares are accurate at the time of writing and serve as a guide only.

  • Payments are interest-free
  • You have eight weeks to pay off
  • Afterpay covers flights and extras (baggage, seat selection)
  • High spending maximums
  • Instant approval
  • Late fees are capped at 25% of your total purchase (maximum of $68)
  • Afterpay purchases include payment fees
  • First payment can work out higher than the rest

  • Refunds can get messy as they go through the airline/third-party site's policy
