Originally founded in Paris in 1983, Kookai was created with the intent of offering fashionable, high quality pieces at accessible pricing. In 1992, the label was introduced in Australia, bringing with it true Parisian chic style.
Offering a range of feminine and flattering pieces, Kookai is now one of Australian women's most loved stores. But if you're looking to branch out your wardrobe with pieces from other labels, we've found some great brands stocking on-trend pieces in styles similar to Kookai.
1. SABA
Contemporary Australian label SABA offers a very similar shopping experience to Kookai. The brand shares Kookai's love of understated colours as well as simple, flattering styles. Though SABA is an Australian label, it does give off a similar Parisian vibe to that of Kookai. Where Kookai tends to cater towards a younger market, though, SABA provides a more age-inclusive range of styles.

2. Misha Collection
Much like Kookai, Misha Collection offers a range of fashion-forward pieces in designs that accentuate the silhouette. Both fashion labels also prefer to play with a largely monochromatic colour scheme, usually adding colours when a hue is trending seasonally. The price point at Misha Collection is more upmarket than that of Kookai, though. As an example, dresses from Kookai range in the $120-$240 mark, while Misha Collection's will usually set you back somewhere around $200-$600.

3. Bec + Bridge
Australian designer Bec + Bridge is known for its clean lines and sleek silhouettes, just like Kookai. The brand's form-fitting body-con dresses in particular offer a clear resemblance to the Kookai brand. Each label also likes to keep on top of current trends, though where Kookai offers a more Parisian chic aesthetic, Bec + Bridge tends to lean towards a more contemporary and progressive edge.
Where to buy:
4. C/MEO Collective
Contemporary chic label C/MEO Collective is defined by its experimental, fashion-forward aesthetic. While the brand does tend to offer bolder designs than Kookai, both labels take note of current trends and deliver on flattering cuts and designs.
Where to buy:
5. Meshki
One of the main reasons that Kookai is such a success is thanks to its great range of basics. Meshki offers a similar experience, with a range of versatile, figure-hugging essential pieces. Available mostly in neutral tones, you can stock up on the flattering range that is incredibly simple to pair with the rest of your wardrobe.
Where to buy:
6. Bardot
Bardot is known for offering great fashion at mid-range price points, just like Kookai. Both labels also stock a great range of flattering basics, alongside incredibly on-trend pieces. Both brands offer a similar price range, with most pieces coming in at under $200.
Where to buy:
7. Sheike
Just like Kookai, SHEIKE offers an ever-evolving range of stylish pieces that won't break the bank. While SHEIKE loves to play with bold colours and fun prints, its love for current trends means that you will find similar styles to Kookai here.
Where to buy:
8. Shona Joy
Shona Joy and Kookai are two fashion labels that focus on chic silhouettes at an affordable mid-range price point. Both are also extremely feminine in nature, sharing the intent of inspiring confidence in women. Where Kookai's pieces are very figure-hugging though, Shona Joy also embraces other styles and silhouettes to complement different body types.
Where to buy:
9. Lioness
Australian fashion label lioness is known for its fashion-forward pieces and affordability. While Lioness offers some different styles to Kookai, both brands explore classic shapes and focus on a neutral palette that is interspersed with of-the-moment hues.
Where to buy:
10. Tigermist
Tigermist is known for its budget-friendly variety of ready-to-wear pieces that will take you through from casual hangouts to weekend drinks. From a huge selection of basics to a range of bodycon dresses, Tigermist has quite a bit in common with Kookai, but at a more affordable price point.
