Samsung air purifiers: Five models compared
Samsung has launched five new air purifiers into the Australian market to help homeowners breathe easier. We compare the new models and what they offer.
Clean air used to be taken for granted by Australians. It has since become an increasingly sought after commodity. (You can blame recent bushfire smoke for this shift in attitude.)
Samsung is attempting to meet the increased demand for cleaner air with the release of five new air purifiers in the Australian market. Each model is designed to eliminate airborne particles and odours with up to 99.97% of ultrafine dust removed from the home, along with unwanted chemicals, gases and even bacteria.
They are especially well suited to pet owners, asthma sufferers and people with seasonal allergies. Here are the features and specifications for each model.

With a huge room coverage of up to 90m², the AX7500 is powerful enough to cover most household footprints. The front air inflow and dual fans work in tandem to draw in, purify and discharge air. There's also an inbuilt Laser PM 1.0 sensor that monitors air quality in real-time, displaying the results with a four-colour indicator.
- 90m² room coverage
- 21dBA-54dBA noise level

Samsung AX5500K
RRP: $799
The AX5500K comes with most of the same features as the AX7500, just in a smaller package. It will cover areas up to 60m² and has a slightly lower decibel rating, maxing out at 50dBA. After going through the purification process, a power fan then quickly distributes the clean air in multiple directions using its 3 Way Air Flow. This enables the airflow to reach a wider area more quickly, achieving a particle clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 455 cubic meters per hour.

As the entry-level model in Samsung's air purifier range, the AX34T3020 lacks some of the benefits of its bigger brothers. However, it still has a decent array of features, including a sleep mode, separate sensors for dust and gas, automated operation and a 2-in-1 HEPA filtration system that cleans and deodorises.
- 34㎡ room coverage
- 20dBA-45dBA noise level
- 264m³/hr clean air delivery rate

Samsung AX9500
RRP: $1,299
The AX9500 (also known as the Samsung CUBE) is the company's top-of-the-range air purifier. Its main claim to fame is its "Wind-Free" filtration system that comprises approximately 60,000 micro-holes for quiet air disbursement. Unlike Samsung's other 2020 models, it boasts a unique square shape finished in metal. The design is modular, allowing you to dock multiple units on top of each other. The Laser PM sensor monitors air quality in real-time, identifying gaseous contaminants and particles smaller than 1.0㎛. It will be available in Australia from November.
