Ettitude's Signature Sateen Sheet Set is aimed at sustainable shoppers who want to do their bit for the environment without compromising on comfort.

The result is a silky smooth feel that is soft, breathable and very eco-friendly.
Comfort and feel
Supplied: Ettitude
One of the standout features of the Ettitude Bamboo Lyocell Sheet Set is its patented closed-loop sateen weave process, dubbed CleanBamboo.
The sheets feel noticeably smoother against the skin compared to cotton sheets with a slightly shiny texture similar to silk. They are also thinner than cotton, which is great for Aussie summers.
Unlike some bamboo bedding on the market, Ettitude sheets are 100% bamboo, with no polyester, chemicals or plastics added to the final product.
In addition to being smoother and more sustainable, the use of lyocell results in a highly breathable weave for better temperature regulation.
We tested the sheets on both hot and cool nights and were never less than comfortable. If you overheat while sleeping they are an especially good option.
The included fitted sheet held to the mattress securely despite an above-average amount of tossing and turning.
The pillow cases, meanwhile, remained pleasantly cool which is something I really struggle with. Not having to constantly flip over the pillow while settling to sleep was greatly appreciated.
The sheet set is also hypoallergenic and antimicrobial, making it suitable for people with sensitive skin or allergies.
Durability and care
Supplied: Ettitude
During testing, we were impressed by the sheet's sturdiness and resistance to pilling. (This is when sheet fibres break down, resulting in a rougher feel and little fuzz balls on the surface.)
The sheets maintained their softness and crisp appearance even after multiple washes.
There is one caveat, however: lyocell has specific upkeep requirements to avoid general wear and tear.
Ettitude recommends washing in cold water on a gentle/delicate cycle with no fabric softener. You also need to thoroughly shake the sheets out between washing and drying to avoid wrinkling.
With that said, the high-quality materials used in these sheets are designed to be durable and long-lasting - provided you follow the care instructions.
Are Ettitude sheets actually sustainable?
In recent years, a growing number of companies have faced criticism for so-called "green washing" - the act of touting eco-friendly credentials that are exaggerated or non-existent.
Fortunately, Ettitude doesn't just talk the talk, but also walks the walk: its sheets are made from FSC-certified organic bamboo and are 100% biodegradable.
Its regenerative bamboo is grown and processed in a closed loop system using recycled rainwater. From start to finish, the manufacturing process uses just 2% of the water required in cotton sheet production and 46% less CO2.
Ettitude also offers a recycling program to reduce the amount of bedding that ends up in Australian landfills.
In other words, you can rest assured that Ettitude is committed to responsible forestry that is fully traceable. (Read its latest impact report.)Back to top
