Is the Kayo Freebies the same thing as a Kayo free trial?

No, it's not. Kayo Freebies allows you to watch a very limited selection of live sport, shows, docos and replays that change each month. You still get access to all the cool Kayo features and there is no time limit, but the content quantity is small and you have no say in what sports are accessible for free. With a free trial, you can access all of Kayo's sports on offer for a certain amount of time without any cost.

How can I watch Kayo for free?

Aside from Kayo's free trial, Telstra personal post-paid customers are able to get a 14-day free trial if they're new to Kayo. You have to have a TelstraID and sign up via Telstra to take advantage of this offer.

Otherwise, if you're not a Telstra customer but still want to access Kayo content for free, you can still sign up for Kayo's regular free trial, or take advantage of Kayo freebies.
