There are a total of 45 league matches and 3 knockout games played in the tournament, running across 10 cities in India.
England are the defending champions, having last won the title back in 2019.

The Men's ICC Cricket World Cup is a 6-week tournament. It starts on Thursday 5 October 2023 and runs through to the final on Sunday 19 November 2023.

Watch Men's 2023 ODI ICC Cricket World Cup live and free
You can watch the Cricket World Cup live and free on the 9 Network or via 9Now. They will screen 18 matches throughout the tournament, including the opening match featuring the 2019 final replay of England vs New Zealand, every Australian match, the semi-finals and final.
Depending on the game, they may screen on either Channel 9 or one of their multichannels such as 9Gem, so check your local guides to see where you can find it on free-to-air TV.
Alternatively, you can stream the same matches on 9Now.
So while this may work if you follow Australia or a high profile team like India, if you're interested in the progress of some of the other nations, this may not be the best option for you.
As both Kayo and Foxtel Now recently discontinued their free trials, that means watching the Cricket World Cup on Channel 9 is your only option to watch the tournament or free.
Livestream ICC Cricket World Cup on Kayo
You can stream every match of the Men's ICC Cricket World Cup live on Kayo. Kayo starts at $25 which lets you watch on 1 screen at a time. For $35 or $35 a month, you can get 2 or 3 simultaneous streams respectively. There is no free trial for Kayo, as it was discontinued on 26 September 2023.
As well as the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, Kayo has lots of other cricket action including the local Australian domestic ODI competitions the WNCL and Marsh Cup, plus the upcoming BBL. All up, Kayo has access to more than 50 sports.
Kayo also has a number of special features, such as Kayo Minis, SplitView and a Key Moments Timeline.
Kayo is compatible with Macs and PCs, plus iOS and Android devices, Chromecast, Apple TV, Android TV, Telstra TV, PlayStation 4 and 5 and selected smart TVs.
Watch ICC Cricket World Cup on Foxtel Now
Like Kayo, Foxtel Now will show every match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 live.
In order to stream the Cricket World Cup via Foxtel Now you have to subscribe to the Essentials pack in addition to the Sport pack, which costs $29 a month. A 10-day free trial is available for new customers.
While this is more expensive than Kayo, Foxtel Now also gets you access to entertainment content and not just sport.
You can watch Foxtel Now on iOS and Android devices, Mac and PC, Telstra TV, PlayStation, selected smart TVs or via Chromecast.
If you want to watch the Cricket World Cup through a set-top box via your television instead of streaming, you can do so via Foxtel iQ.
You need to have the Sports HD pack on top of the base Foxtel Plus package to watch the Cricket World Cup on Foxtel iQ. This means it will cost you $100 a month to watch, with no free trial. This is more expensive than Foxtel Now, but it does broadcast sport in 4K.
Like Foxtel Now, Foxtel iQ also comes with entertainment options alongside sport.
ICC Cricket World Cup format
All 10 competing teams play in a round robin format.
This means that Australia and every other nation will play a minimum of 9 games, as they face every other team.
The 4 highest ranked teams will advance to the semi-finals.
The winner of the 2 semi-finals will meet each other in the World Cup final, with the winner being crowned ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Champions.
When is the 2023 Men's ICC Cricket World Cup final?
The ICC Cricket World Cup final 2023 will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. For Australian fans, the final will start at 7.30pm AEDT on 19 November 2023.
