Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White Pixel 2 smartphones coming soon.

Google's upcoming Pixel phones are set to be launched on 4 October (or the early hours of 5 October if you're in Australia, thanks to that pesky international dateline), but we already know a surprising amount about the new handsets, thanks to a series of leaks around both the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2.

The latest leak, courtesy of Droid Life details the expected colours, storage and US pricing for the two new handsets. For the Pixel XL 2, you'll be able to grab one in either "Black and White" finishes, or "Just Black", with US pricing set at $US849 for a 64GB version, while the 128GB variant will cost $US949.

Taking into consideration that US list prices never include sales taxes, at current exchange rates that would suggest pricing of around $1170 for the 64GB variant and $1300 for the 128GB version. As with previous Google-branded phones, it's not expected that the Pixel XL 2 will support microSD card expansion.

For the smaller Pixel 2, you get a wider array of colour choices, with Kinda Blue, Just Black and Clearly White Pixel 2 models planned. However, it's quite possible, as has happened with many other phone brands, that Google won't release all three colour variants in Australia.

Like the Pixel XL 2, the Pixel 2 will ship in 64GB and 128GB versions, with no support for microSD expansion expected. US list pricing is reported at $US649 (64GB) and $US$749 (128GB), which after conversion and GST would suggest pricing around $890 and $1030 respectively.

We'll no doubt find out more when Google formally announces both handsets on 4 October, although it's rapidly becoming likely that Google won't have many surprises in store, with news of the Google Home Mini speaker also leaking this morning.
