Skincare products I bought because TikTok made me

I found myself on the skincare side of TikTok, and holy moly, these products look lit.

One of my favourite things about TikTok is that you can find some absolute fire products on there. This week, my algorithm decided I needed to know a bit more about skincare (a bit shady, but whatever), which led me to discover a bunch of brands that I then aggressively researched and promptly added to cart.

Here's what I found.

1. Zitsticka Pimple Patches

I'm not convinced that these things don't have some secret witchy ingredient in them because the results are straight-up black magic.

The brand has a range of products but it's the pimple stickers that really get me going. Pop one of those bad boys on your zit and legit, in a few hours, it's gone. Absolute wizardry, I tell you.

According to the brand, the patches have "these tiny micro-darts [which] self-dissolve to flood the epicentre of your early-stage zit with targeted ingredients, clearing the appearance of the upcoming drama."

2. Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant

LOOK at this girl's skin. She is literally the definition of glowing.

She uses the Paula's Choice Liquid Exfoliant and says it transformed her skin from "dry, dull and boring", and guess what? I bloody believe her.

The product contains salicylic acid, which helps with congestion and breakouts. It's also a little less aggressive than other acids, so it won't irritate your skin too much. Just be sure to introduce it into your skincare gradually.

3. The Ordinary's AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

This The Ordinary product has, quite literally, gone viral on TikTok. Everyone was losing their marbles over the before and afters, which resulted in a 108,000 person waitlist on Cult Beauty.

This peeling solution is a combination of chemical exfoliants that go to work on multiple layers of the skin to really give it that deep clean.

The real game-changer is the high concentration of AHA. You'll find most chemical exfoliants sit at the 5% mark, whereas this serum has a whopping 30% of AHA. In saying that, you should only use it once a week, otherwise it will dry the hell out of your skin.

It's still pretty damn hard to get your hands on this product, but if you see it in stock, I suggest snapping it up.

4. CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

Sometimes it can seem like skincare brands make things complicated just for the sake of it, and when we see a bunch of long names or ingredients listed on a product, we assume that it means that it's the bee's knees.

Not necessarily.

Thanks to TikTokker Hyram, CeraVe got the attention it finally deserves. Specifically, the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. This bad boy might seem simple but it gets the job done. A great everyday cleanser for morning and night.

5. First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub with 10% AHA

If you're someone that deals with "strawberry skin" after shaving (AKA pesky red bumps of dry/irritated skin) then this product is a godsend.

Apparently it can take a few uses to see some results, but TikTok swears by this product.

6. Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30

This Dr. Jart+ Color Correcting Treatment is straight-up witchcraft.

This, quite literally, changes your entire complexion in a matter of seconds. I don't even think that I can do it justice with words, but you can check out a bunch of TikTok videos where you can see this product evening out people's skin and adding such a radiant glow that you could probably skip the foundation altogether.

7. The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid

Whether you have combination, dry, normal, oily or sensitive skin, this product will leave your face hydrated, plump and like it just had a big ol' drink of water.

This super affordable brand is on skincare TikTok guru Hyram's must-have list. It helps to improve dullness, signs of aging and uneven skin tone, all while keeping you glowy and radiant.
