Sydney trounced Port Adelaide by 36 points to book their ticket to the grand final.

AFL Grand Final Sydney vs Brisbane match preview

Since the AFL era began in 1990, Brisbane have won 3 premierships, while Sydney have won 2.

Brisbane's sweet spot came in 2001-2004, when they won 3 titles in a row and were runners up after that.

Sydney's last appearance in a grand final was in 2022 when they lost to Geelong.

If you include VFL premierships, Sydney actually have 10 titles to their name.

That puts them ninth on the list of all time winners.

Brisbane Lions is ranked 12th, but the team also has a much shorter pedigree, having been founded in 1996.

This is the first time Sydney and Brisbane have faced each other in an AFL grand final.
