F1 is back for its 2024 season with an unprecedented 24-race calendar, including the return of China after a nearly 5-year hiatus.

Max Verstappen is defending champion after winning his third championship in a row in 2023. He is also the driver to beat in 2024, with a 15-point lead at the time of writing.

Australians will have a keen interest in Oscar Piastri, who is once again racing for McLaren in 2024. Fellow Aussie Daniel Ricciardo is also back behind the wheel for AlphaTauri.

How to watch F1 live in Australia

The rights to broadcast a Formula 1 live stream through Australia are owned by Foxtel, which means you can watch via Foxtel Now, Foxtel iQ or Kayo. It broadcasts the 3 practice sessions, qualifying and the race itself.

The only live free-to-air TV coverage available for F1 is the Australian Grand Prix on Channel 10 and 10 play.

Channel 10 used to screen highlights of F1 races on the Monday following the event, but it is no longer doing this in 2024. So the only place to catch up on F1 if you miss it will be via Foxtel or Kayo.
