The Games of the 33rd Olympiad are about to kick off in Paris.
From July 24 to August 11, thousands of Olympic athletes will compete for the coveted gold medal in more than 300 events. That's a lot of sports to look forward to!
If you're based in Australia and are keen to watch everything, here are your options.
How to watch the Paris Olympic Games on free-to-air TV
The Nine Network holds the broadcast rights for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in Australia. (The previous Olympics were broadcast by the Seven Network.)
On television, the network will be spreading the action across 2 main channels: Channel 9 and 9GEM.
What time does the coverage start?
Live coverage on Channel 9 begins 11:30pm AEST on Wednesday. 9GEM live coverage also starts on Wednesday from 10:50pm AEST.
How to stream 2024 Olympics online for free
Channel 9 will be streaming enormous volumes of live Olympic content on 9Now completely free.
You will need to create an account. It requires only some basic details including email, password, first and last name, birth year, postcode and gender.

During the Games, 9Now will be offering a dedicated Olympics channel where you can find highlights, scheduling. athlete profiles and heaps more.
Like the free-to-air channels, 9Now is ad supported, which means you will need to sit through commercial breaks.
The app works on most modern tablets, phones, set top boxes and smart TVs.
How to watch 2024 Olympics ad-free
Stan customers can stream all 329 Olympic events live and ad-free via the Stan Sport app.
It contains a 24/7 live stream and 8 exclusive international Olympics Channels dedicated to select countries. There will also be 2 daily recap shows with commentary from Ash Barty, Grant Hackett, Nova Peris, Stephanie Rice and others.
All medal events will be available to stream in 4K Ultra HD.
Stan Sport costs an extra $15 a month on top of your existing Stan subscription.
Paris Olympics dates
The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 24 to August 11, 2024.
It is the third time Paris has hosted the Summer Games, also staging the competition in 1900 and 1924.
Who are Australia's main medal hopes in Paris?
As is usually the case with Australia at the Olympics, the hopes start in the pool.
Ariarne Titmus, Kaylee McKeown, Cameron McEvoy, Elijah Winnington and Sam Short are all tipped to win individual gold. The men's and women's relay squads are likely to pick up medals as well.
In athletics, Aussies to watch include Matthew Denny (discus), Nicola Olyslagers and Eleanor Patterson (high jump), Nina Kennedy (pole vault) and Mackenzie Little (javelin.)
Logan Martin will be competing in the BMX freestyle event in a bid to claim back-to-back gold following his win at the Tokyo Olympics.
Canoe slalom legend Jessica Fox will also have her eyes on another gold medal.
Most Aussies will be barracking for the Matildas who are still riding high from last year's FIFA Women's World Cup where they placed fourth.
Other events where Australia could appear on the podium include cycling, rowing, diving, equestrian, women's basketball, women's beach volleyball, canoe sprint, BMX racing, skateboarding, surfing, Rugby Sevens and hockey.
Will any content be behind a paywall?
All Olympics coverage on 9Now will be free to watch. With that said, you do need to be signed into your account to access the coverage. (Signup is free.)
Stan Sports, meanwhile, costs $15 per month in addition to an existing Stan subscription. This works out to a minimum of $27 per month.
On the plus side, all 329 events will be ad-free, live and on demand on Stan Sport.
Does Channel 9 have any special features for the Olympics?
Yes it does. The streaming app 9Now will be the main tool for special features. Live content, full replays, short-form highlights plus mini highlight packages will all be in use across the competition.
