The 15-man game is truly a global sport. Products like the Super Rugby competitions, Europe's Six Nations, a lengthy list of international fixtures and of course the Rugby World Cup underline the sport's appeal.

So, what are your options for finding a rugby live stream in Australia? First we'll run you through the broadcasters and then take you through the competitions.

How to watch rugby union in Australia

Sports streaming platform Stan Sport is now the home of the vast majority of rugby competitions involving the Wallabies and Australian franchises. beIN SPORTS CONNECT has a range of top-class international rugby competitions.

Competitions like Super Rugby and the Bledisloe Cup series, The Rugby Championship, the Shute Shield and Super W will all be found on subscription service Stan Sport.

While you need to pay to access Stan Sport, all Wallabies Test matches plus 1 Super Rugby match per week will be shown on free-to-air on the Nine Network, which owns Stan and Stan Sport.

Stan Sport costs $15 a month, but you also need to have a regular Stan subscription, which ranges from $12 to $21 a month. So the cheapest cost to get Stan Sport is $27 a month.

In a deal announced in October 2023, the World Rugby Sevens will be leaving beIN SPORTS and move over to Stan Sport in a new multi-year agreement.

How to watch Super Rugby

Super Rugby is broadcast by Stan Sport. As mentioned, 1 game a week will also be available on the Nine Network. You can register for a free Nine account in order to stream the selected weekly Super Rugby game live on 9Now at no cost.

Livestream Rugby Sevens

The Rugby Sevens Series has a new streaming home for the 2023/24 competition onwards. You can catch all 8 rounds of the revamped competition on Stan Sport. All matches are exclusive, live and ad-free.

Stream Wallabies games

To follow Australia's national rugby union team, the Wallabies, every match of the Bledisloe Cup between the Wallabies and All Blacks, plus the Rugby Championship is available on Stan Sport, live and ad-free.

All Wallabies home games and fixtures against the All Blacks will be shown live on free-to-air television on the Nine Network. If you want to stream these matches at no cost, you can sign up for a free account on 9Now if you don't already have one.

Watch Top 14 and European rugby
