As far as the superhero genre is concerned, The Gifted is often overlooked, which is a real shame. With glorious special effects and a compelling story, the series is a pleasant surprise, often tackling topical and complex subjects. The premise is simple: what happens to potential X-Men who aren’t getting recruited by Charles Xavier?

The Gifted follows a family who goes on the run from the government after they discover that their children have mutant abilities. They soon join an underground community of mutants and engage in a never-ending battle for freedom and equality. It stars Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Percy Hynes White and Natalie Alyn Lind.
